Kiwa Bio-Tech To Help Formulate Soil Remediation Policy for China

ONTARIO, CA - (NewMediaWire) - June 04, 2018 - Kiwa Bio-Tech Products Group Corp. (OTCQB: KWBT) (“Kiwa Bio-Tech” or the “Company”), a leading agricultural biotechnology company that develops and manufactures microbial fertilizers for use in the multi-billion food industry is pleased to announce that the Company was designated to the Counsel Unit of the Yangling Soil Improvement and Remediation Technical Industry Alliance (“Alliance”). Founded in March 2018, the Alliance is an ad hoc organization under the supervision of Administrative Committee of Yangling Free Trade Zone. The objective is to establish national level soil improvement and remediation standards and promote the collaborative development of all companies in the soil improvement and remediation industry chain in Mainland China.

Over nineteen percent (19%) of the arable land in China is presently contaminated in some manner. According to a sector study on environmental services from Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, the cost estimates to decontaminate this farmland ranges from 5 to 7 trillion Yuan (approximately US$ 740 billion to US$ 1.03 trillion) upon the implementation of the Soil Pollution Prevention and Control Action Plan that was released by the government in 2016. As a result, the plan fuels a significant soil restoration market in Mainland China.

As the Counsel Unit, Kiwa Bio-Tech will provide technical support and work with the Alliance to standardize the soil improvement and remediation industry. The Company’s KETS smart-soil technology contributes to increasing organic matter and improving the soil granular structure, which alleviates the soil hardening and soil acidification. The KETS compound microbial flora in the fertilizer products can also degrade heavy metal contamination and pesticide residues in the soil. As a part of this work, Kiwa Bio-Tech will establish the Yangling Kiwa Bio-Tech Research Institute for Ecological Agriculture and Environment (“Research Institute”). The Research Institute will create a platform on which scholars and researchers from the environmental protection field and soil restoration field from prestigious Universities can work together to improve soil quality, develop green agriculture, and provide safe food.

Kiwa Bio-Tech’s CEO, Ms. Wang, states, “Healthy agricultural products can only grow on healthy soil. Environmental protection is a long-term task and soil remediation is an immediate priority. Kiwa Bio-Tech has invested 18 years of effort in this field. The Company seeks to fulfill the goal of establishing eco-friendly agricultural industry chain on the Alliance’s platform.”
