Museum Launches 24 Hour LIVE Facebook Telethon Feb. 11
(NewMediaWire) - February 10, 2017 - Burbank, CA – The Martial Arts History Museum is the only cultural facility in the city of Burbank and the only museum of its kind in the world. In order to assist the museum financially in expanding to a larger facility, they will be launching a 24-Hour Facebook Live Telethon beginning at 4 pm, February 11 through 4 pm February 12 on broadcast at https://www.facebook.com/martialartsmuseum.
Co-partnering with Dynamic Dojo Talkradio, thousands, perhaps millions of martial artists and visitors across the globe can enjoy an onslaught of entertainment as they support the efforts of the Martial Arts History Museum.
Established in 1999, the museum celebrates its 18th anniversary this year as young people enjoy learning about diverse cultures, traditions, exotic music and unique artistry. It is a place in which bridges the gap of understanding between different peoples and societies.

“I really enjoyed the efforts Jerry Lewis made for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and how many people were involved and continually giving to such a great cause,” says museum president Michael Matsuda. “Well, now we have a different cause, opening the doors of different cultures and breaking down the barriers of prejudice and racism. The more we understand each other, the better we will appreciate each other. The martial arts is that common denominator.”
Twenty-four hours of entertainment will grace the live broadcast including martial arts demonstrations, musical performances, comedians, interviews and more. The Museum Telethon will give local artists the opportunity to show off their skills to a live audience via the internet.
“This is going to be a huge event for the museum. We are experiencing growing pains at the museum and it’s so unfair when our kids don’t have the opportunity to visit our facility because of space issues. I ask for all of you to view the telethon and make a donation. It will help the kids, it will help the community, it will help our city and it will make an impact for many generations to come. We need new, unique places for our kids to visit and learn about other cultures,” adds Matsuda.
The Martial Arts History Museum is a non-profit 501c3 organization and 100 percent of the funds collected will go to the museum.
The doors will be open for public participation from 6 pm that evening until the following day. “Even if you are not a performer, you can still come to the museum after 6 pm throughout the whole night to enjoy all our festivities. After 6 pm, the museum will be free to the public,” adds Matsuda.
