View Boston Observation Deck Joins the Boston CityPASS Program

(NewMediaWire) - June 21, 2023 - Boston — View Boston, the newly opened observation deck on top of the Prudential Tower, officially joined the Boston CityPASS® ticket program last week. This three-story attraction sits atop one of New England’s tallest buildings and offers 360-degree views of Boston and the surrounding area, from storied Fenway Park and the busy runways of Logan Airport to beautiful Back Bay and beyond.

View Boston, whose operators spent more than three years meticulously developing each facet of the attraction, also incorporates the best in cutting-edge exhibit technology. Among the high-tech bells and whistles are Virtual Viewers, which allow guests a peek inside some of Boston’s most famous neighborhoods. The Viewers are located on the attraction’s 52nd floor (aka The View), along with The Lookout, an elevated platform that gives visitors a raised vantage point from which to better appreciate an already stunning panorama.

And if guests see something from the sky that they’d like to explore further on the ground, they can use the observatory’s innovative ViewPrint system (available throughout the experience) to begin building a personalized itinerary for the remainder of their Boston stay. Visitors simply scan their ticket at any ViewPrint device and add the sites they’d like to see. (There are more than 350 points of interest built into the system.) As guests near the end of their View Boston visit, they scan their ticket one last time in The Finale room, enter an email address, and then receive a link to a tailor-made itinerary that includes their chosen points of interest, additional sightseeing suggestions and tips, and a map to help them easily navigate their way to their next stop.

Also on the 52nd floor are metal sculptures of several famous Boston landmarks: the Hatch Memorial Shell concert venue, historic Trinity Church, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; and others. While these are interesting to see up close, their purpose goes much deeper. The pieces were designed in partnership with Perkins School for the Blind to allow sight-impaired visitors to “see” and feel some of Boston's most iconic landmarks.

Guests can then pop down a flight to the 51st floor, known as The Cloud Terrace, for an open-air terrace view of Boston. Stratus, an indoor/outdoor cocktail lounge, is located here, serving seasonal drinks and small plates. This is the perfect place for a light lunch or sunset cocktail.

The attraction’s final floor (the 50th) is known as The City. This is where all things Boston are celebrated. Among the exhibits are Boston 365, a remarkable 3D model of the city with projection-mapping lighting that dramatically transforms the city from snow-dusted winter to sunny summer, as well as from day to night. Nearby is Open Doors, a 270-degree immersive theater screen whose film takes viewers on a street-level exploration of various neighborhoods and provides a behind-the-scenes perspective of some of Boston’s most beloved landmarks, including Fenway Park.
