Women Warrior s Permanent Exhibit to Unfold at Museum
(NewMediaWire) - March 09, 2024 - Glendale, CA – Michelle Manu, one of the premier advocates for Women Warriors throughout the nation, has teamed up with the Martial Arts History Museum to launch a fundraiser to establish a permanent exhibit for Women Warriors within the museum.
“From the days of the Hawaiian Lua women warriors to the Japanese Samurai women who kept their village safe, help us to raise funds to establish a permanent section in the Martial Arts History Museum to focus on the many heroic warrior women throughout time. The African Dahomey, Albanian Nora, Celtic Andraste, Chinese Hua Mulan, British Catherin of Aragon, Filipino Kahabagan, French Joan of Arc, Indian Obavva, Indonesian Dhien, Islamic Abi Bakr, Malaysian Sari, Mexican Adelita, Mongolian Khutulun, Native American Lozen, Samoan Nafanua, Scottish Scáthach, Spanish Aragon, Swedish Blenda, Thai Chan, Vietnamese Trung sisters, Viking shieldmaidens, and more,” notes Michelle Manu.
The Martial Arts History Museum, which celebrates its 25th year this year, is in the process of relocating from Burbank to a 4X larger facility in the heart of Glendale, CA. “The larger space allows us to expand the museum and to create new opportunities for additional permanent exhibits,” says museum president Michael Matsuda.
Manu has continued to promote several courses for women’s self-defense in areas of high risk as well as hosting a variety of lectures on self-confidence and self-awareness for women.
Manu’s goal for the project is to begin with $5,000 of the $20,000 needed to create this new permanent section in the museum.
